In the afternoon of February 5, Chief Judge Wu Xielin of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court made a keynote speech concerning Shanghai Intellectual Property Court to the American funded enterprises at the invitation of United States-China Business Council. He introduced the establishment background, organization structuring, jurisdictional limits as well as the basic information of case accepted and settled for the past 1 month since operation of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court; and positive influence brought by the establishment of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court on the juridical protection of intellectual property from such three aspects as paying more attention to cross-regional jurisdiction in case settlement, establishing technology searcher system and further unifying the application of law. He focused on the target location of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court and such specific striving directions as protecting the intellectual property of parties at home and abroad, using and absorbing the juridical experience for reference, exploring and setting up the juridical management system for intellectual property, reforming the operation mechanism of juridical power and cultivating and creating intellectual property expert judge. He indicated that the establishment of the first batch three intellectual property courts in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou meant that the deployment of exploring and setting up intellectual property court made at the 3^rd Plenary Session of the 18^th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was realized from conception, and will become the significant mark that the intellectual property protection of China steps on a new stage and new level. Shanghai Intellectual Property Court will converge the elites of intellectual property judge of the whole city to innovate the mechanism of intellectual property judgment, to further play the leading role in the juridical protection of intellectual property, to put forth effort into promoting profession, internationality, authority and influence of intellectual property judicial work, to positively make new contribution to build legal modernization in china and innovation-oriented country. After the speech, Wu Xielin answered questions concerning the difference between the survey advice and expert opinion made by the technology researcher in the intellectual property case the member representatives of United States-China Business Council cared about, the function of the review advice of the technology researcher, jurisdiction limit of the criminal case of intellectual property, settlement continuation and stability of intellectual property case before the establishment of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court as well as the professional background of the judges of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court. The member representatives of United States-China Business Council held that this speech showed the open image of Shanghai Intellectual Court and the high attention paid to the juridical protection for intellectual property, and hoped to strengthen the international communication and cooperation with Shanghai Intellectual Court.
