On the morning of April 14th, Shanghai Intellectual Property Court convened a press conference, at which Vice President Li Shulan reported the status of judicial protection of intellectual property rights of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court in 2015. This is Shanghai Intellectual Property Court’s first white paper on judgment, as well as its first time to publish the white paper on the status of the judicial protection of intellectual property rights in Chinese-English text to foreign and domestic readers. The White Paper reflects Shanghai Intellectual Property Court’s judgment work status in 2015 in an all-round way and from multiple perspectives with visual figures & charts, detailed judgment data and abundant cases. According to the White Paper, Shanghai Intellectual Property Court’s acceptance of cases is featured with innovation protection, equality protection and fair competition. And thus, Shanghai Intellectual Property Court strengthens the judicial protection of intellectual property rights from five aspects, including promoting practical dispute resolution, unifying judicial standards, actively take preservation measures according to law, enhancing the compensation and strictly punishing the malicious infringement, and consistently deepen seven mechanisms, including the professional mechanism, service mechanism, judiciary power operation mechanism, judge assistant mechanism, convenience mechanism, intermediation mechanism and exchange mechanism so as to safeguard the justice, efficiency and authority of the judgment of intellectual property rights. Vice President Li Shulan said that Shanghai Intellectual Property Court would adhere to the reform and innovation spirit and carefully implement the requirement of “carrying out strict judicial protection of intellectual property rights” so as to provide more powerful judicial service and guarantee for furthering accelerating the construction of the country with strong intelligent property right protection, China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, as well as the most influential technological innovation center in the world and the intellectual property center city in the Asian-Pacific regions. At the conference, Vice President Li Shulan and Chief Judge Chen Huizhen also answered the reporters’ questions concerned by the media.
