On the morning of October 21, as arranged by Shanghai High People’s Court, 22 students of an IP training class concerning foreign affairs organized by Shanghai Patent & Trademark law Office LLC. visited Shanghai Intellectual Property Court (“Court”) for study and exchange. This training class was attended by professionals specializing in intellectual property law from enterprises and law firms from countries including United States, UK, Germany and Japan and regions including Hong Kong and Taiwan. Liu Junhua, Presiding Judge of No.1 IP Tribunal, received the visitors. These students of the training class visited the Litigation Service Center, watched an English feature about the work of the Court, and attended an informal discussion for exchange. Presiding Judge Liu Junhua welcomed the students, introduced the organizational structure, manning and case trial of the Court and answered the questions on operation of the technical investigator system, jurisdictional limits of the Court, causes for significant increase of cases, basis for determining the jurisdiction of cases and evidence acquisition & fixing system during trial of IP cases which the students were concerned about. The students of the training class said they knew more about juridical protection of intellectual property in Shanghai and the situation of the Court, and strengthened their confidence in protection of intellectual property through this visit.
