On March 30, 2019, the 2019 China Forum on Judicial Protection of Intellectual Property Rights was held in Beijing. More than a thousand people, including judges from the IP Tribunal of the Supreme People’s Court, some provincial and municipal higher people’s courts, the intellectual property courts in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, as well as practitioners and theorists, participated in the forum to discuss the current hot issues on judicial protection of intellectual property rights. Full-time member of the Adjudgement Committeeof SIPCChen Huizhen, Judge Ling Zongliang (now serving in the IP Tribunal of the Supreme People’s Court), Judge Fan Jingbo and Judge Yang Fuyu were invited to attend the forum and make keynote speeches. At the main forum, the organizer also awarded certificates to the winning authors of the 2018 Essay Competition for Intellectual Property Judges. Judge Fan Jingbo won the third prize for his article Identification of Whether the “Search Candidate” Function in the Input Method Constitutes Unfair Competition, and Judge Ling Zongliang won the consolation prize for his article Judgment on the Infringement of the Latter Registered Trademark after Its Revocation.
