On the morning of July 18, Professor Cheng Deli of the Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property, Tongji University, led seven WIPO students to visit the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court (SIPC). They were received by President Qian Guangwen and Judge Yang Fuyu of the No.2 Intellectual Property Court. The students visited the litigation service center, sat in on a trial over design patent infringement, and watched a film on the work of the SIPC in English. At the symposium, President Qian Guangwen welcomed the students and introduced to them the basic situation of the SIPC and how the cases are handled there. The students thanked the court for its warm reception and had an in-depth exchange with the judges on the case they had watchedand the protection of intellectual property in foreign-related cases. The students said that through this visit, they got to know more about how the SIPC had worked to build itself into a world-class intellectual property court. They wished to learn from China's experience in judicial protection of intellectual property, and also hoped that they could have more exchanges with the SPIC in the future.
