On the afternoon of July 4, during the trial of the IP Tribunal of the Supreme People’s Court in a case of infringement of the patent right for invention, a remote video connection was made with Shanghai Intellectual Property Court. The images of physical evidence in Shanghai were transmitted in real time, and the comparison of the technical characteristics of the disputed infringing product was successfully completed by remote evidencedemonstration. This is the first time since the establishment of the IP Tribunal of the Supreme People’s Court that remote evidence demonstration was employed to verify the physical evidence in a court hearing.

In order to ensure the smooth progress of the evidence demonstration through video, Shanghai Intellectual Property Court has carefully deployed, debugged, and guaranteed the specific work of the court’s on-site sound reinforcement, video images, sound effectsof the main court, emergency network support, etc., and quickly formulated and implemented the support plan, divided responsibilities level by level, and defined targets. It tested the main and backup communication links in advance, conducted joint equipment debugging with the IP Tribunal of the Supreme People’s Court multiple times, and repeatedly adjusted the equipment to the best state to ensure the stable signal transmission and clear sound reinforcement effect.
