On the afternoon of July 31, more than 20 law students from the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Shue Yan University and the University of Warwick visited the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court (SIPC). They were accompanied by the staff from the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the China Law Society, the LOCPG HK, the Shanghai Law Society and the reception office of the Shanghai Higher People's Court. The students visited the litigation service center and courtrooms of the SIPC and attended a symposium there. At the symposium, Li Shulan, vice president of the SIPC, first welcomed those students, and then made a multimedia presentation about how the SIPC was established, its functions and positioning, the measures it has taken to ramp upjudicial protection of intellectual property rights, and how it has been doing in IT construction, judicial openness and international exchanges. The students also asked questions about the impact of the Chinese Mainland's enhanced IP protection on foreign investments.

As part of the 2019 "Hong Kong and Mainland Legal Exchange Week for Young Students" jointly organized by the China Law Society and the LOCPG HK, the visit aims to help the university students in Hong Kong further understand the judicial system on the Chinese Mainlandand enhance their recognition of the intellectual property protection and development ofthe Chinese Mainland.
