On the afternoon of August 13, 2019, with a view to raising enterprises' awareness of intellectual property protection and improving their comprehensive competitiveness regarding IP, the Administrative Committee of Zhangjiang Hi-tech Zone held, in collaboration with Shibei Hi-Tech (Group) Co., Ltd., a meeting on analysis oftrademark cases in Kaikai (Group) Co., Ltd., which is part of the "IP Series of Zhangjiang Hi-tech Zone." The meeting was presided over by Yu Lixin, a researcher of the Technological Service Office (IP Office) of the Administrative Committee of Zhangjiang Hi-tech Zone. Judge Chen Huizhen's Studio of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court had been invited to deliver a lecture to some 50 enterprise representatives from ShanghaiShibei Hi-tech Park. Judge Chen's speech, entitled "The Basic Principles of the Trademark Law and Case Study," started with the basic concept of trademark and covered such aspects as the acquisition of exclusive rights, the types of infringement, and infringement defense. Based on her own experience in trial and specific cases, Judge Chen elaborated on the problems confronting enterprises in terms of management, application and protection of their trademarksduring lawsuits. She also made the following suggestions on enterprises' brand management and construction: establishing the right view on innovative entrepreneurship, raising the legal awareness on brand development, strengthening brand maintenance and operation, taking proactive measures to protect your rights and defending in accordance with law. The enterprise representatives then raisedquestions about the problems they had encountered at work in IP protection and rights protection, which were answered by Judge Chen. The representatives said that after listening to Judge Chen's analysis of the trademark cases, they had learned how to protect their trademark and rights, and it was really helpful for them to manage and protect their trademark in practice. The enterprise representatives also received two volumes of Typical Intellectual Property Cases compiled by Judge Chen Huizhen's Studio at the meeting.
