On the afternoon of April 21^st, an appointment ceremony was held in our court for specially invited experts for scientific and technical consultations on which President Wu Xielin conferred letters of appointment upon the first batch of 18 academic (or technical) leaders. Vice President Li Shulan presided over the ceremony. The experts came by invitation were from such prestigious institutions of higher learning as Fudan University, Tongji University, Jiao Tong University, Shanghai University, ShanghaiTech University and East China University of Science and Technology as well as from well-known research institutions like Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Research Institute of Chemical Industry in the professional fields of machinery, chemical industry, material science, software, pharmacology, chemistry and communications, to name just a few. The 18 experts, serving as a think-tank behind IP judges in their settling of litigations, would exert a significant influence over such aspects as the identification of technical facts in dispute, improvement of the investigation methods to deal with technical IP cases and the authentication system of technical survey.
