On the afternoon of March 9th, Mr. Yun Guk-seop, Patent Officer of Korean Embassy in Beijing, and his delegation visited our court. Vice President Li Shulan received the delegation, and Presiding Judge of No.1 Intellectual Property Tribunal Liu Junhua and the Assistant to Judge Jiang Guangrui also came to meet the delegation. Ms. Liu Shulan introduced to the delegation Shanghai's economy and social development and the status quo of intellectual property rights including patent right, trademark, copyright, the background of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court's establishment, the court's development and positioning, internal organization, team of judges, case jurisdiction and judicial exchanges. She also briefed the court's achievements made in protecting the intellectual property rights of the domestic and foreign parties concerned, improving the efficiency of case trial, deepening the reform of the trial system and mechanism of intellectual property right cases, establishing a professional trial pattern, perfecting the system for finding technical facts, and exploring diversified mechanism for resolving IPR-related disputes. Patent Officer Yun Guk-seop firstly expressed gratitude for the hospitality of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court and highly appraised the achievements made by the court for more than a year. Both parties had an in-depth discussion over some specialized problems concerning the trial of IPR cases thereafter, and agreed to carry out cooperation and exchange activities and learn from each other to jointly promote the competence to protect intellectual property rights.
