Shanghai IP Court Held Discussion Meeting to Study Xi Jinping's Speech on 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening-up, and to Celebrate the Court's 4th Anniversary

On the morning of December 29, Shanghai Intellectual Property Courtheld a symposium on learning and implementing the spirit of important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at a gathering celebrating the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up and to mark the fourth anniversary of the establishment of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court. More than 40 people attended the symposium, including Chen Yajuan, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, members of the leading group, full-time members of the judicial committee, middle-level leading cadres, and representatives of police officers of various departments. The symposium was presided over by Li Shulan, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Presidentof Shanghai Intellectual Property Court. At the symposium, police officers watched the video-clips celebrating the 4^th anniversary of court establishment, and 9 leaders, middle-level cadres and representatives of police officers talked about their respective feelings and experiences in view of the achievements that have been made. Everyone was pride of the great achievements made in the past 40 years of reform and opening up and the development of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court over the past 4 years. They expressed firm determination and confidence in continuing to deepen the reform and opening up and deepening the judicial reform, and will always keeping in mind the spirit of working hard, being brave and pursuing excellence, be dare to face the difficulties and challenges encountered in the development of new reform courts and take on the mission of pushing forward the reform. President Chen Yajuan said that we should, with the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech, the great achievements and great experiences gained in the past 40 years of reform and opening up and the achievements of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court made in the four years since its establishment, encourage all officers to creatively implement the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and Shanghai Municipal Committee, emancipate our minds at a new starting point, refresh and deepen the reform, and carry out new work to constantly promote the reform and development of cross-administrative courts and intellectual property courts with the spirit of reform and innovation. President Chen Yajuan stressed that first, we must fully understand the great historical and realistic significance of reform and opening-up, and constantly enhance our sense of responsibility and consciousness of deepening the reform and opening up in the new era. We needto continue to deepen our study, unify our thoughts and actions with the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech, constantly enhance our conscious awareness of providing strong judicial services and guarantees for the reform and opening-up in the new era, and continue to strengthen our sense of responsibility for deepening the reform of judicial system and promoting the modernization of the trial system and judicial competence. Second, we must be aware of the road and achievements made in the four years since the establishment of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, further clarify the direction in which it will continue to advance, and enhance the impetus to move forward. We need to uphold the leadership of the Party to ensure the right direction of reform and development; adhere to reform and innovation to constantly enhance the momentum of reform and development; stick to problem-orientation to find out breakthrough in reform and development; persist in open development to constantly increase the influence of reform and development; and adhere to people-centered idea to build a consensus of reform and development. Third, we must be fully aware of the current situation and our mission, and continue to promote the reform of cross-administrative courts and intellectual property courts. We should deepen the reform of judicial responsibility system to further develop a judicial power operation mechanism with clear and unified powers and responsibilities; deepen the reform and innovation of litigation system to enhance people’s recognition of judicial reform; deepen the reform and innovation of operating mechanisms to ensure trial quality and efficiency, enhance the satisfaction of parties concerned and improve the sense of feeling of judges; and further promote the modernization of judicial competence to provide technical support and talent support for reform and innovation.
